The customer and recipient come first so Betty and Nola will do their best to meet your need. The God given talent that they posses is evident in everything that they create. Prairie Floral has been serving the area since 1974 and will continue to do so as long as there is a need for beautiful floral designs in Ellendale and the surrounding area and God sees fit to keep them here.
Goods and Services
Prairie Floral has a wide variety of items for you to purchase. Foremost is the beautiful fresh flowers that they have on hand or can get biweekly. The selection of Day Spring and Leanin’ Tree cards is endless. For that stuffed animal lover or collector, they are a licensed TY Beanie Babies dealer. If jewelry is your thing, check out the beautiful necklaces, earrings and rings at Prairie Floral. You need a unique gift? Look no farther than the money origami that Betty and Nola will even customize for you. For some fun, you can choose from the wide variety of 10 inch mylar balloons available at Prairie Floral. For the craft lovers, they have home made craft items from area crafters.
Barbed-wire Creations and Pheasant Feather Art are some of the neatest items that Nola and Betty are hand making. These items are one of a kind works of art. No two are identical and they can even be personalized for you. Another new item is our Bowling Pin Dolls. Each one is unique and are dressed as men or women in various outfits/occupations/occasions. our newest hot items are our Forever fairy gardens. beautifully designed from permanent plants and decorated with fairies, gnomes, animals...all original and unique.
The Staff
Nola Schweitz and Betty Schlenker are our two full time designers on staff with almost 90 years combined experience. Betty was the original licensed Head Designer when Prairie Floral opened its doors in March of 1974. Betty became the owner in 1977 and moved the business to its present location. Her daughter Nola has been working at her side since she was 12 years old. Nola attended Brainerd Area Vocational Technical Institute and became a licensed designer in 1983. Nola purchased the business from her parents in Nov of 2003. Betty has stayed on as a designer but does much more than designing floral bouquets. This twosome does everything there is to do. They are the sales staff, book keepers, delivery personnel, window designers, maintenance, cleaning ladies and the list goes on and on.
You won't believe all the wonderful things you will find at Prairie Floral and Gifts…you just have to see for yourself to believe how much is in this small store in the middle of Ellendale’s main street.
